I was a sixth former up for scholarship exams, and walked alone all round the cathedral interior. I fell in love, knew I must get accepted to the University so I could be in this space often. I was a very long time with Bede but never saw Cuthbert's shrine. Had anyone asked I'd have said he was on the Island.
